Keeping the community informed of the Petaluma Health Care District's efforts to transition Petaluma Valley Hospital operations to Paladin Healthcare

Latest Update: September 18, 2017

This update is aimed at providing information and an official perspective to all Petaluma Valley Hospital (PVH) medical staff, employees and volunteers on the work being undertaken by all three parties involved in this transaction. It is the expectation of the District that all three parties and their representatives make themselves available for important meetings and calls to keep the momentum and accomplish our common goal of a smooth transition. Please do not hesitate to contact Ramona Faith if you receive any information that is contrary to these communications or if you have concerns.

• Designing an IT system to improve on the current state at PVH has been laborious, and is continuing with clarity on the goals we want to achieve and the obstacles we need to overcome. Our designated future operator has worked with a number of key vendors to design a system that improves on the current capabilities at PVH with a goal of providing an enhanced experience to all constituencies, patients, staff and physicians.

• The District has been able to reduce remaining issues to a small number, and therefore we are close to finalizing our lease and transfer agreements with Paladin. This has occurred through a number of face-to-face and virtual meetings held in the last few weeks, and we are scheduling the final meetings that will be needed to come to a final agreement.

• Once the final agreements are signed, we will be able to connect our future operator with physicians, staff and the community through a series of meetings where their vision for PVH can be better articulated and a two-way communication process can be developed and nurtured.

• The Distict expects the needed agreement with SJH will be reached to ensure that the transition from their stewardship to Paladin’s is handled professionally and with the goal of maintaining and enhancing care for our patients.
