Board Election Information

Information on the November 8, 2022 Consolidated Election for PHCD Board of Directors

Qualified individuals could file their candidacy with the Sonoma County Registrar of Voters for the offices below until August 17, 2022:

 

The following individuals have qualified to run:

Crista Barnett Nelson (incumbent)

Cheryl Negrin, NP

 

As only two (2) candidates filed, equaling the number of seats available, the nominees will be appointed en lieu of an election. 

The Board's policies on elections and filling vacancies by appointment are drawn from the District's By-laws and CA Government Code.

 

Application Process

The Sonoma County Registrar of Voters is no longer accepting applications to be a candidate in this year's election to the Board of Directors. The following details are offered for anyone interested in serving on the PHCD Board of Directors:

1. The Petaluma Health Care District has a five-member Board of Directors. Members must run for election and are elected by the residents of the District. Members of the Petaluma Health Care District Board of Directors are by default members of the Petaluma Health Foundation Board of Directors.

2. The term once elected is for four years; there is no limit to the number of terms.

3. Prospective Board members must be at least 18 years of age and must be District residents.

4. Board members are not to be absent from three (3) consecutive regular meetings, or from three (3) of any five (5) consecutive meetings.

5. Board members are expected to participate on Board Committees and Ad Hoc Committee meetings, as assigned by Board President.
