On October 7, 2017 seven fires erupted across Northern California, destroying nearly 9,000 structrues and taking the lives of 43 individuals.
Our neighbors to the north, including the cities of Santa Rosa, Glenn Ellen, Geyserville and Calistoga, and to the east in Sonoma suffered an incredible loss of homes and businesses.
The work of our first responders, medical community and generous resdients in battling these fires and supporting the displaced has been enormous. We are so grateful.
As our work turns from responsing to a crisis to nurturing a recovery, Petaluma and the District will play a critical in the long-term healing and resilience-building of our county. We start by offering a list of resources for our community - resources for those impacted and resources for those looking to donate or help. We will update this list regularly and welcome feedback on additional resources to include.
We are #SonomaCountyStrong.
